The Ballard High School Music & Theatre Department is lauded throughout the Northwest and beyond for its high level of musical and performance excellence. Ballard provides one of the most complete high school music programs in Seattle - offering instruction in voice, wind and string instruments spanning jazz to classical.

The Big Give - Thank you to all who donated to BPA
100% of the money raised through The Big Give last week will be used to purchases basic need items for the music and theatre programs at Ballard High School.

Current choir student placement videos are due Friday, May 15th through Schoology. If you have any friends or know of anyone interested in joining choir for next year, please feel free to pass this information along and encourage them to contact Ms. Rowley
Incoming freshmen do NOT need audition for choir.
Current Symphonic Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra: your auditions will occur as a playing test submitted to Schoology by Wednesday May 20. Please read the Information packet for more details.
Symphonic & Chamber Orchestra – Open to freshmen by audition only. If you are an incoming freshman, and plan to audition prepare the below materials, and email Ms. Fortune to schedule a ZOOM or Microsoft Teams audition which must be complete by May 27th.
Symphonic and Wind Ensemble auditions are due by Friday, May 22nd. Jazz Band auditions are due by Friday, June 5th. All incoming Freshman wind players are automatically placed into Concert Band but may audition for a higher band if they would like. The Support Music Merit Award recognizes individual schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

Hot Java Cool Jazz, Celebrate Young artists, at the Paramount -- Cancelled
BHS Performing Arts regrets that Starbucks 25th Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz high school benefit concert must be canceled entirely due to recent concerns for the health and safety of our community. We ask that you consider donating your ticket purchase to support the Ballard Jazz program. If you would like your purchase as a donation, no further action is needed. Please note that Starbucks is committed to donating funds to the school's music program even though the event is canceled.
