Attention Parents!
The Performing Arts Booster Board Needs You:

As many seniors graduate this year, we have a number of great opportunities to get involved with the Performing Arts Program. Please consider supporting the program by participating for the 2017-2018 school year.  Contact ballardperformingarts@gmail.com for more info.  We are especially looking for parents with expertise in excel, social media and graphic design.  Ballard Performing Arts needs student and parent/guardian volunteers for many activities throughout the year to help uphold the excellence of our programs. There are ways for everyone to help, from a helping with a small job or taking on the lead of an event, we need you!

  • Performing Arts Videographer Needed: Interested in taking BPA Concert Videos? Please contact Diane Taylor. Not only are the videos great to forward to family & friends, video performances are needed for the Directors to apply to events, competitions & festivals.
  • We need your help to keep our social media accounts humming with representation of the activities our students. Are you social media savvy? Do you enjoy taking beautiful photos and posting with captions? Are you enthusiastic about Ballard Performing Arts? Band, Orchestra, Drama, and Choir need your help. Contact Eric Souza.
  • We need someone to spread the word within the school community about Performing Arts happenings. Notify the PTSA weekly news, the daily bulletin through Vivian in the office, keep in touch with the school webmaster, and maybe hang a few posters in the hallways. The school is your turf. Material about events is already in BPA newsletters and is being generated by our own publicity folks. We have photos and graphics ready. You would edit the message to newsletter-appropriate length, pop in a graphic, and send! This might take you an hour per week, often less. Contact Eric Souza

  • Looking for PR People (a.k.a.: poster distributors)!   Work with the directors to distribute posters in nearby (established) establishments (schools, libraries, churches, businesses, organizations).  For more information or to sign up, click here!
  • Wanted: Photographers and Videographers!  Help us promote the BPA program and keep archive of all of the performances. Keeping our visual records up to date has helped our band, choir and orchestra qualify for national opportunities.  They also supply our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds. We are looking for volunteers for each of the three Ballard Performing Arts music groups.  Click here to sign up.  Performances start soon.
  • Come join the fun and get on the Standby Volunteer List to help out the BHS Band.  30 parents are needed on a Standby Volunteer list to be ready for important jobs. From time to time our usual volunteers need extra hands; your hands would be fantastic! There's no long term commitment and most jobs require only a short amount of time. Please contact Allison with your name, email, phone number, and student name.    
  • During the year, volunteer needs will be listed in our weekly enews, from our Volunteer Coordinator, or one of the group parent representatives. Please make a note to mark these email addresses as safe contacts on your email account.







All volunteers must complete a volunteer information packet for the school. Please see the SPS updated Volunteer information and forms at: http://tiny.cc/SPSvolunteer and complete the Volunteer Check List or you can pick up a Volunteer Form packet at the Ballard School Office.  This packet contains forms for day and overnight trips.  Any volunteers who attend overnight trips must complete all forms, and pay for fingerprinting by the district.
